Coronavirus outbreak is affecting people across the globe. The airlines are increasingly suspending their flights to China. Major European airlines like British Airways and Lufthansa also suspended flights to mainland China. Data from Cirium says that nearly 10,000 flights from, to, and within China have been canceled since 23rd January. Flyers are advised to check their flight status before they travel to the airport even if their airline is not on the list.

Between January 23rd and January 28th, 92% of scheduled flights in and out of Wuhan were canceled. In total, out of 2,606 scheduled flights to and from Wuhan, 2,406 did not fly. This is not counting the rescue flights which are unscheduled charters for evacuating specific citizens.

Unsurprisingly, this has hit Chinese airlines the hardest. China Eastern canceled in a total of 1591 domestic and international flights (1529 domestic and 62 international). Another airline China Southern canceled 1510 flights in total (1425 Domestic and 85 International). The airline expects to resume its major international service from Wuhan in March.
