Railroad update: Yesterday, the US Senate voted 80-15 to intervene on a potential rail strike. Today, Joe Biden signed H.J. Res.100 into law which provides for a resolution with respect to the unresolved disputes between certain railroads represented by the National Carriers’ Conference Committee of the National Railway Labor Conference and certain of their employees (White House).  This ensures that essential transportation services be maintained.  In September, the White House stepped in to broker a tentative agreement between the unions and rail employers.
