The United States (U.S.) reopened its borders on Monday, November 8th, 2021 for foreign visitors, ending 20 months of restrictions on travel from around the globe. The U.S. will allow entry to fully vaccinated foreign nationals, after showing a negative COVID-19 test report.
Non-U.S. citizens who are not fully vaccinated will not be allowed to enter the United States. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will allow few exceptions. The guidelines continue to require travellers to wear masks in all transportation hubs.
U.S. citizens and Legal Permanent Residents (LPRs) who are eligible to travel, but are not fully vaccinated, will need to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test one (1) day before their flight’s departure. U.S citizens and LPRs who are fully vaccinated will need to present airlines with proof of vaccination and a negative COVID-19 test three (3) days before their flight.
